I was born in Waverly,Tennessee in 1958. A small southern town in a time of great racial hatred and horrifying racial injustices in this country. I was born the 4th child of 6. My mother washed and ironed clothes, and baked cakes to try to make ends meet. She could not depend on my dad who gave her money, when ever he might show up. My dad was an alcoholic who ran a 2 car cab service that he used for gambling and running bootleg liquor as well.
